Our Story

A Farm That Still Feels Like Home

Werkheiser Farm sits on rich soil just outside Tannersville, where the Pocono Mountains meet rolling farmland. What started as a small family plot has grown into a trusted source of fresh produce for the entire region — but the approach hasn't changed.

Every seed is planted with intention. Every harvest is picked at peak ripeness, not for shelf life but for flavor. If it's on our stand, it came from our ground that week. That's the standard we've kept, and the reason neighbors keep coming back.

From Our Fields

What's Growing Right Now

Our stand reflects the rhythm of the season. What you'll find changes with the weather, the soil, and what's ready — never what's convenient.

Fresh herbs, salad greens, and lesser-known varieties you won't find anywhere else in the area. Grown small-batch for maximum freshness.

Why It Matters

The Difference Real Local Makes

There's a reason people drive past the grocery store on the way to the farm stand. It's not nostalgia — it's taste. Produce that travels hundreds of miles before it reaches you has to be picked early, bred for durability, and often stored for weeks. Ours goes from the ground to your hands in hours.

Picked at Peak Ripeness

We wait until every fruit and vegetable is fully ripe before harvesting. That means flavor you can actually taste — and nutrition that hasn't faded in transit.

From Ground to Stand in Hours

Nothing sits in a warehouse. We harvest each morning and stock the stand the same day. By afternoon, what's left is what your neighbors couldn't resist.

A Neighborhood Landmark

Werkheiser Farm isn't just a place to shop — it's where the community gathers every summer. Regulars know the owners by name, and the kids know which row has the best tomatoes.

Seasonal Variety, Year After Year

Spring greens, summer berries, fall squash and apples, winter preserves — every season brings something different, and we make the most of it.
